A teenage boy on Friday drowned at the Bar Beach in Lagos.
Despite NEMA’s warnings regarding the Bar Beach, these instructions were however not heeded.
According a witness, the beach was filled with a huge number of fun seekers, with only two life guards on duty at the beach.
The teenage boy was spotted by few people who were standing at the tip of the beach and according to the video footage, rescue efforts by three guys did not pay off as they could not summon the courage to go close to the teenage boy due to the high current of the beach, the boy struggled to stay afloat till he eventually drowned.
However, fun seekers continued with their fun like nothing happened.
As at the time of this report, no one came out to complain of their missing teenage boy as a lady who initially thought it was her brother raised an alarm while rescue operations were on, but she was calm after she found out that it was not her brother. source: CHANNELS TV
